There comes a time in everyone's life when you need to forget what societal norms tell you and throw caution to the proverbial wind. That time for me has come. The stars and planets have aligned for me to commit to what I imagine will be an adventure of a lifetime.

Now, whilst I am unsure that my body will hold out to the strains that this event will throw at it, I do know that I will come away from it a better person enriched from the experiences along the way. Sights seen and people met this is my reason for undertaking the Tour Divide in 2013.

I could not have got to this point without the support of my amazing wife and kids, who allow me to selfishly pursue this crazy passion of mine. The time away from family will be hard, but unbeknown to them, they are the inspiration that will get me through the toughest days.

So all things going to plan, expect to see me on the start line of the 2013 Tour Divide.
