So unfortunately I have had to take the decision to pull out from the Tour Divide for safety reasons. My neck condition has got to the point that I am unable to keep my head up, especially going downhill. This coupled with the fact that I cannot wear a helmet and my brace setup was just too dangerous. The mountains here are big, which makes for some amazingly fast descents - but potentially life threatening in my situation. As I sit here I feel 100% - my body is strong, my legs held out well and I was having a blast doing it. My family asked me one thing before leaving - don't do anything stupid - and riding the way I was and taking chances was stupid and could have ended very badly for me. So waiting now in Pinedale for a shuttle out, which officially marks the end of my 2015 Tour Divide. Thanks to everyone who cheered, followed and supported me in my journey, it was truly an experience and could not have managed without you.
