TOUR DIVIDE

The Tour Divide is an annual mountain biking race traversing the length of the Rocky Mountains, from Canada to the Mexican border. Following the 2,745-mile (4,418 km) Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, it is an extreme test of endurance, self-reliance and mental toughness. The race format is strictly self-supported, and it is not a stage race - the clock runs continuously from the start until riders cross the finish line.

Heya also riding the epic in March and looking forward to it. Question for you: on your rides what sort of terrain are you covering (rocky trails/smooth roads/flat/hilly) and what sort of average speeds are you doing?

Hi Brent
ReplyDeleteAt this stage I we are mostly doing LSD (long slow distances) - our training is mostly all under 70% - where possible! ;-)
The last couple of weeks we are including some interval training as we are off to Sabie in December.
Then we are back onto our next 12 week programme just after Christmas... And by the time we get to Sani we should be feeling strong!
I am going to try and find some more technical rides in the new year.
Just get a good base as I think we are all in for some long days!
