TOUR DIVIDE

The Tour Divide is an annual mountain biking race traversing the length of the Rocky Mountains, from Canada to the Mexican border. Following the 2,745-mile (4,418 km) Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, it is an extreme test of endurance, self-reliance and mental toughness. The race format is strictly self-supported, and it is not a stage race - the clock runs continuously from the start until riders cross the finish line.

Hi Roons
ReplyDeleteI know that riding here in the Western Cape is a real privilege, but at least you guys stay warm when you're wet. In winter I struggle to find guys willing to ride as they hate being wet & cold. I on the other hand am from the UK where you can't let a bit of rain stop what you're doing or else nothing would ever get done.
Thanks for your recent comments. My foot is now sorted but after the first week it never stopped me from riding, although it was painful at times, especially when unclipping from the pedal.
Glad to hear that the training is going OK. The family constraints are always a tough balancing act. I'm loving my training at present and thankfully my family are being really understanding and supportive. I owe them big time!
Having chosen to go for fewer rides but longer duration seems to be working for us. I'm often out at 4ish and then back mid morning or out for a night ride so don't miss too much family time. I've managed to avoid weekend riding which is a blessing for the family as that's the key time for being together. I'm really blessed in that respect.
Not long now to the start. It'll be nice to actually meet you too.
Take care
Dean
