Weekly Summary... still feeling good

Well had an end to a good week. I managed to make up some good time over the weekend. On Saturday I had a good 6hr ride with my partner and a mate. It was a great ride and I did not feel tired at all. I followed it up in the afternoon with a 1,5hr ride with the family - I stayed in the big ring with the baby seat on for the whole ride. I must admit I did wake up this morning with rather tired legs! Anyway, put it down to some strength training! Today I managed a couple of easy hours - nothing too strenuous but a nice way to end off the week. I do think that when you are putting in the hours of training it is important to have those ride where you just head out and enjoy. Leave the heart monitor at home and just return when you feel like it. The weather was hot over the weekend and even riding at 4pm this afternoon it was still very hot.

But what I am really am enjoying to see is how my HR is being managed on rides. Below is my 6hr Saturday ride - you can see how well it worked out - exactly 100.0km to my gate! OK it was not planned, but pretty cool when things like that just happen! But the good thing is that how I managed my heart rate.

Well got a bit of a mixed up week this week. I am in Cape Town for a wedding over the weekend so am going to have a bit of a rest week. I will fit in some running - it does seem like a sacrifice going to Cape Town and not being able to ride some of the tracks that I have been hearing some of the guys talking about especially due to the fact that I will be right in Franschoek.... oh well I will just enjoy the scenery!

But it is going to be a busy week fitting in all the riding that I need to do to make up the week target!
