Today marks the 50 day mark to the kickoff to the Epic. That is roughly 120 training hours left... Not much indeed. Off to the gym later today, a lot of what I have read and heard about endurance training is the importance of cross training. So I use the gym sessions to do some core work and some running on the treadmills. The running part is important and I feel I really should be doing more - I just really battle to fit in the time to do running. What's more is that I really do not like doing it! It does however make you appreciate it when you get back onto the bike!

Tomorrow is a 6 hour ride. Going to do an easy run out towards and out the back of Northern Farm. With all the rain that we have had this week - no doubt we are going to get wet. I also imagine that the route out there will be pretty sandy and messy. Will report back on Sunday.

Keep it safe on the roads training - there have been a number of reports of riders being knocked down - not great news at all!
