The week thus far

OK so even though I am having a week from hell - I have not let this get in the way of the start to my training. On Monday I managed to squeeze in a 48 minute run around Fourways. I generally do not do any running as I have a prior injury from a skiing accident - but I thought what the hell! Anyway it was a serious labour - and I eventually hobbled in home - must have looked quite a sight! I do however think that it is an important element to a training schedule and I will persist!

This morning I dressed up in all my winter gear, including some new purchases - my Cape Storm fleece ear warmers and my First Ascent outershell. I did not bother with tights - mainly because I could not find them in my cupboard! Anyway - as it turned out I did not need them. The temperature out was about 5-7 degrees - and not once did I ever feel to warm or to cold. My system did take a shock and the ride did seem to feel like it was taking longer than it normally did! ;) My fitness levels are certainly at rock bottom. But at least from here on things will feel better!

Saw the entries for the Sani2C came through this week - it is certainly an entry that I will move moutains to secure! This will be the race that this year I will train for as I have always enjoyed it - but it has always been used as a training ride for bigger races like the Cape Epic. But seeing that I still have not been offered an entry, thanks guys! :( - I will take on Sani2C with greater vengence!

Lets hope the rest of the week will be as productive!
