So in an attempt to find a goal to train towards I went online to see what events are at the end of the year. I did not want to do Sabie Experience (www.sabiexperience.co.za) again as it really does take its toll on your equipment. So I decided to look further afield - I eventually stumbled across the Namibian Desert Dash (18th December).

It is a 340km 24-hr endurance race from Windhoek to Swakopmund. I have entered it as a solo rider which means that the full 340kms will have to by undertaken by myself within the full 24-hr period. (www.desertdashnamibia.com)

So what that does now mean that my training schedule will need to be notched up a level or 10. It will be longer and slower rides - so will have to amend the training schedule on my blog.
