Well after a long time of not keeping up writing my blog I have decided to change the direction and focus. In August 2010 I moved to Canada with my family from South Africa - leaving behind family and a great bunch of mates. Settling in has been very difficult primarily because is has been a very long winter for me. (I left in winter from ZA and headed straight into the Canadian winter)

Anyway I have started to ride again. I have thus far managed to do sub-zero rides which is certainly a difference from the Cape Epic or Desert Dash riding conditions.  Our approach to this is an adventure and thus everything should and will be tried once. To this end I have decided to commit on riding the 2012 TransRockies with my Cape Epic partner and I am going to be using this blog to capture our journey to the start-line.

I also hope that this blog will be able to reach out and get me to meet other like minded cyclists in the area - as I firmly believe that the friends you make on the trail will be some of your closest friends.
