Whats up?

I must say that I have been really bad at updating my blog in the recent weeks! This does not mean that I have not been on the bike. Have had a really great time out and about. A mechanical problem (read broken spoke) kept me off the bike on the weekend - but I made up for it in the gym with some running, core strength and some serious strength intervals on the spinning bike. I really did enjoy it!

What is really great as we taper down for Sani2C - REST Days on the training schedule. Aaaaaa, the joy of sleeping in! Even when my daughter wakes up at 06h30 it seems like the middle of the day ;) Rest needs to be respected at this stage of the training - The difficulty is staying off the bike on rest days - I do feel guilty. Silly, I know but when you have been training like this the rest days just seem odd!

Well for Sani2C we are seeded in K-Group - anyone else in the same group?

I am starting compiling lists for the Epic - lists, lists lists. Packing lists, To Buy Lists, To Do before I go Lists. Got to love Excel! I found a great list that covers everything needed for the Epic - now just to decide what not to pack!

Anyway - got another 3hr planned for tomorrow am - it is certainly getting darker - I am battling to recognize my partner on the road in the morning - I nearly rode past him in the dark this morning! 2hrs on Thursday, 3hrs on Friday, 5hrs on Saturday and a social ride on Sunday. The following week will be very easy leading up to Sani2C.

Way too many exclamations in this post, must stay off the coffee...

  1. Hi Roons

Glad it's all going well for you.

I too am taking more rest days now and feeling good for doing so but like you I have this nagging feeling that I should be on the bike.

I'd be very interested to see your list which covers just about everything for the Epic. Did you download it from somewhere? Any chance you could forward it too me?

  2. Hi Roons,

I would also be interested in your Epic list as I am coming from the UK and would like to make sure I am not missing anything.

    Best Regards,
